Maintenance Associate
Job Code:2022-MAINT-001
Salary Range:$15.00/hour-$16.50/hour
  

The Maintenance Associate’s duties change from day to day.  Certain tasks such as mowing and landscaping are necessary on an ongoing basis.  Other tasks come in as requests from program staff, which may included plumbing, electrical work or work on the physical structure of facilities.  Maintenance staff also engage in major building and remodeling tasks from time to time.  These projects will be labor intensive and require a variety of skills.  In addition, programs at times may move to a new facility, or staff even shift office space requiring moving assistance.  The Maintenance Associate must be willing to take a great deal of direction from the Facilities Manager, and be flexible around schedules and duties.

Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required
- Previous maintenance experience and/or specialized training in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc

 Skill Requirements:
- Ability to basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, yard care, etc
- Effective time management
- Ability to work independently and in a project team
- Ability to read and follow directions
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when using tools, equipment and chemicals

 Physical Requirements:
Must be able to read written instructions
- Must be able to communicate well in writing or speaking
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk most of the working day
- Physical body dexterity to allow for bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc. when moving, lifting, or installing equipment, appliances, furniture
- Ability to work in various temperatures and seasonal condition
- Ability to transport self and equipment and tools to various agency locations
