Children's Home is looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst!!

The Academy for Autism serves students K-21 with an educational or medical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. The educational experience for students at The Academy for Autism includes evidence-based curriculum based on principles of applied behavior analysis, including functional behavior assessments and discrete trial training. Students benefit from low student-to-staff ratio (2:1) including speech and occupational therapy; and case coordination.; AFA provides extensive staff training in working with children with autism.  The Academy for Autism currently serves about 20 students.


POSITION PROFILE:
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst provides descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses for enrolled students. Provide behavior analytic interpretations and teach others to carry out effective research based behavior analytic interventions. Design and deliver instruction in behavior analysis. This person plays a critical role in the development and implementation of the student's behavior intervention plans. 


JOB FUNCTION:
Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments, including functional analyses, and provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results. Design and supervise behavior analytic interventions to effectively develop and implement appropriate intervention methods including understanding and evaluation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. Teach others to carry out ethical and effective research based behavior analytic interventions. Design and deliver instruction in behavior analysis. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA)
- Master's Degree from an accredited university
- Preferably two years of experience in designing and implementing applied behavior analysis interventions
- Experience with children with Autism and children exposed to trauma are highly desirable 
- Ability to relate effectively to students and their parents
-Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students, staff and families served
- Effective written and oral communications
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within educational team
- Ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner
- Ability to use computer technology
- Ability to provide ABA programming
- Ability to employ research based behavior analytic teaching procedures within skill-building programs (Discrete Trail Training)
- Knowledge of childhood trauma and related diagnoses
- Ability to conduct and write up functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans
- Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information
