One on One Student Aide - Kiefer/AFA (32.5 hours/week)

The One on One Student Aide at Kiefer School provides assistance on an individual level with an assigned student. The One on One is assigned to a particular student and provides individualized assistance based on that particular student's needs. The One on One also assists the teacher with classroom activities to ensure academic and behavioral functioning of students, and maintains professional boundaries and demeanor. One on One Student Aides are vitally important to the educational development of students and form close professional relationships to the students they are assigned to.

Qualifications:
- Paraprofessional Certificate is required.
- Classroom experience strongly preferred.
- Practical experience working with children strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in students, staff, and families served.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work within treatment team.
- Ability to handle job related matters in a professional, diplomatic and confidential manner.
- Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information.
- Ability to physically transport self and students to various locations.
- Physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.
- Physical ability to perform physical restraints.
