Job Code:2017-INTERN-014
Salary Range:0.00-0.00

The primary function of a Pre-Hospitalization Screener intern would be to conduct psychiatric screenings and communicate with clients, families, and other mental health professionals the need for hospitalization, or the resources that will support the client and client's family in the community. Interns would learn about the psychiatric hospital admission and transportation process used throughout the state. Interns would be trained how to respond and problem in a crisis situation either in a client's home, school, or hospital. Since the Pre-Hospitalization Screener intern is in the community and possibly the first person in a crisis situation, interns would need to project a positive image of the program and agency and use good judgment. Completion of documentation will need to be completed on a daily/weekly basis. Occasionally, the Pre-Hospitalization Screener intern may be required to provide individual, group, and family clinical services to clients. Interns would have a fixed schedule to participate in an on-call rotation, and would also be required to attend ongoing training, meetings, supervision, and clinical shadowing experiences as a member of the Behavioral Health Team.
